Yvonne R. (Riley) Harris, 72, of New Haven, CT, answered her call home to rest in glory on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Yvonne was born on May 5, 1949, to Lester and Antoinette Riley in New Haven, Connecticut. She married Alvin Collins Sr. in 1966; of their union they produced two sons, (Late) Alvin Collins Jr. and Edward Collins Sr.

After completing studies at Wilbur Cross High School, she began life as a wife and mother. While raising her children she continued her studies by entering the Radiology Program at Gateway Community College. In Yvonne's late 20s she became lead solder technician at Mark Levinson Startup Company making the first all gold component amplifier. People from as far as Japan came to learn her soldering technique. From there Yvonne became a Master IBM typewriter technician. She serviced and repaired typewriters at such places as Union Carbide, now Dow, makers of Glad Trash Bags, Eveready and Energizer Batteries, etc. Later in her life she began working with troubled youth transitioning out of the Welfare Department to Independent Living.

The LORD led her into the ministry and W'GATAP Productions Ministry was birthed based on Matthew 19:26

"With men this is impossible.

But with GOD all things are possible."

Yvonne was predeceased by both her parents, her older sister, Antoinette (Dolly Riley), her only brother, Harold (Butch) Sr. and her first born son Alvin C. Collins Jr. She is survived by her son Edward L. Collins Sr., grandson Edward L Collins Jr., sister Barbara Gaines, sister-in-law Cheryl, nieces and nephews, Antoinette (Tonie), Thomas Jr. (TJ), Tanya, La'Monika, Tyfannie, Ga'Brielle, Todd, Michelle, Harold Jr. and a great host of cousins, W'GATAP Team Members and friends.

A Homegoing Service and Celebration of Yvonne's life will be held on Friday February 4, 2022 in Dixwell Avenue Congregational UCC, 217 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven at 12pm (Noon).
