William
Jagrosse
Apr 14, 1945 — Jul 12, 2026
William “Bill” Jagrosse Obituary William “Bill” Jagrosse Sr., born April 14, 1945, was called to heaven on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Milford Health and Rehabilitation Center. He denied he had end stage kidney disease and was notorious for not following doctor’s orders. When he was advised to quit smoking, he smoked more. He was told to limit his salt intake, but instead, ate pounds of DiLusso salami, Wonderbar bologna, and soppressata. His meals would not be complete if he did not smother his food in Tabasco hot sauce. He was not one to return phone calls and was the king of “no call no shows.” He tried to pull this when heaven called for him but God was onto him and bribed him to come up, promising him an unlimited supply of coffee, Slim Jims, and RingDings.
Dad claimed he could fix anything— almost every cord in our house growing up was doctored with black electrical tape. When the four of us reached our teenage years, Dad brought home a blowdryer, a can of Aquanet hairspray, and a tub of DippityDoo. He claimed it was for us, yet he kept it on his dresser, obviously having the best hair in the house. He would then slather his face with POLO cologne and state, “I have a reputation to uphold.”
Bill’s life was defined by the love for his family that he and mom “Betty” created. He was the father of four kids and mentored many of our friends in Morris Cove. Dad was always taking us to Light House Beach. Dad loved taking us on hikes through East Rock and we loved riding on the carousel that he referred to as the “the flying horses.” Once a year we all went to Riverside Amusement Park no matter what the financial situation was.
Bill loved music. He loved music of all eras, but his favorite was 80’s disco. He and our mom started a DJ business “Mr. and Mrs. J.” His trademark was going to DJ events in an old hearse. They performed at so many weddings that still today, people recall the entertainment he brought to their special day. He also was the DJ for the Halloween parades at the Sea Wall, playing “Thriller” and “Monster Mash,” leading the parade.
Bill leaves behind his daughter Jacquelyn (Dean) Goldberg, sons William (Franky) Jagrosse Jr. and David Jagrosse, and two sisters, Rosa (Dave) Clough and Lori (Robert) Caruso. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Christopher Buccitti, Roman Jagrosse, Carly Buccitti, Spencer Goldberg, Eliza Goldberg, Xavier Jagrosse, Darla Jagrosse, and Sedona Spaziani. Bill also had the recent honor of becoming a great-grandfather to Evander Apollo Buccitti. Our family wants to thank Bill’s aunt, Patricia Moran “Lu Lu” and his cousin, Al Jagrosse Jr., for keeping him company and providing him with laughter every week.
Bill was predeceased by our mother Elizabeth “Betty” Jagrosse and his beloved daughter Barbara Jean Buccitti Spaziani, whose death broke his heart. His three brothers also predeceased him.
Thanks to his friends that have always reached out and kept in touch with Bill. We further extend our gratitude to Milford Rehab Center, where he received exceptional care, along with Branford Hospice of CT. He was the life of the party to them, especially those he proposed to on a routine basis. His sharp wit, laughter, and love will remain with us always. He leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
As per Bill’s request, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held later this year.
