Walter W. Swierad Jr., of East Haven, born June 5, 1935 in New Haven, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024.
Walter grew up in New Haven until he married his wife Ann in 1957 and moved to East Haven. Walter is survived by his beautiful wife of 67 years, Ann Kempter Swierad; his children, Sandra Woodhouse and Scott Swierad; his grandchildren, Kristina Swierad, Margaret Woodhouse, and Christopher (Kristin) Woodhouse; his great granddaughter, Loren; his twin great granddaughters due in early 2025, and many other family and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, Walter W. Swierad Sr. and Helen Radamacher Swierad; his brother, Otto Swierad; and his niece, Lydia Swierad.

Walter served as a Specialist First Class in the United States Army from November 7, 1958 to November 19, 1960. Walter loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a car enthusiast who also loved camping, hunting, and fishing. He built a beautiful home for his family and was always surrounded by love. He was a wonderful family man and lived a fulfilled life. Walter was a dedicated senior truck driver at Giering Metal for 50 years until his retirement in 2018.
