Theresa Y. (Calandro) DeMayo, age 91, of Woodbridge, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 6, 2021. Born on February 15, 1930, in Plainville, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Giovanna (Camella) Calandro. Loving wife of the late Anthony J. DeMayo. Beloved mother of J. Anthony (Jean) DeMayo of Woodbridge. Cherished grandmother of Jonathan DeMayo, Joshua DeMayo, and James DeMayo all of Woodbridge. She was predeceased by six brothers Angelo, Alphonse, Albert, Dominic, Edward, and Harry Calandro. Also predeceased by three sisters Josephine and her husband Michael Romei who helped raise her, Nancy DelVecchio, and Anna Biancur. Theresa worked at Edward Malley Company and was the Owner of French Italian importing Spring Glen national liquor and cheese and crackers shop all in Hamden Connecticut. Theresa was an avid cooker. She loved the New York Yankees and Giants, but what she loved the most was her family.
Family and friends are asked to go directly to Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Road, Woodbridge on Wednesday September 8, 2021 at 10am. Interment will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic Charity's. Condolences may be expressed at hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com
