Rose Elizabeth Cretella's Obituary
Rose Elizabeth Cretella, 88 of 354 Dunbar Hill Road of Hamden, Connecticut died Monday November 16, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Rose was born in New Haven, Connecticut on April 26,1932, daughter of the late Anna and Joseph Melillo. Rose was employed as an artistic seamstress for many years at the exclusive Oxford Shoppe located on Audobon Street in
New Haven, Connecticut.
Rose was the wife of the late Lawrence R. Cretella who passed in
June of 1987. Rose was the caring, devoted and loving mother to two sons
Larry Cretella of Hamden and Vincent Cretella of North Haven, Connecticut.
Rose is survived by two sisters Phyllis Furino of Hamden and Josephine Gambardella of Branford, Connecticut.
Rose was a dedicated grandmother to Brittany, Allysa and Vincent Cretella all from North Haven, Connecticut.
Rose was predeceased by a brother Pasquale Melillo and a sister Mary Golia.
Rose was a petite little woman with a beautiful big mouth and this world will
never be the same without her in it. There are no words to express how much she will be loved and missed.
Calling hours are Sunday November 29, 2020 from 3:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut.
The Mass for Christian Burial will be held on Monday November 30, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 321 Circular Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut. Followed by the burial at Saint Lawrence Cemetery 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven, Connecticut. Condolences may be expressed at Hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com.
