Obituary

Martha "Marty" Camposano, 81, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Branford Hospice. Marty was born in New Haven on April 9, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (née Barbieri) Antollino and was predeceased by her husband, Edward Camposano.

She is survived by her children: Michelle (Robert) Vallombroso of New Haven, Nicolle Camposano of Branford, and Edward (Jackie) Camposano Jr. of Northford. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Robert Vallombroso Jr., Sydney Vallombroso, and Luciano Camposano, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. To her grandchildren, she was known as Nonnie.

Marty had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved Shih Tzus: Keeba, Copper, Simba, Zoe, and Pumpkin. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and cherished watching her son play baseball as well as her grandchildren participate in their sports and activities.

She was a bonus mother to many and had a kind spirit, always seeing the good in everyone. Her door and heart were open to all. Marty was actively involved with the PTO at Nathan Hale School during her children's time there and continued to attend school events with her grandchildren. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Bernadette's Church, where she taught Confirmation classes for many years, even after her own children were confirmed.

Marty adored her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She loved sitting on her porch, conversing with everyone who passed by, and offering them all a cup of her strong coffee. During which, she always made sure to feed the squirrels that frequented her yard, each of which she had named.

Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Raphael/Yale New Haven Hospital and Branford Hospice for the exceptional care they provided.
