Lori
Fisher
Jun 10, 1961 — Feb 5, 2021
New Haven
On February 5, 2021, with her children at her bedside, Lori Jean Fisher gently passed into eternal rest in Norwich, Connecticut.
Born on June 10, 1961 to the late James R and Hazel I. (Jean) Fisher in New Haven, Connecticut, Lori grew up Out the Way in Brookside.
Brookside was not only home it was a place where dreams were born while family ties and friendship abounded.
Lori was a graduate of Hillhouse High School class of 1979. During those years Lori had a passion and ambition to become a beautician, so upon graduating from high school, she enrolled in Wilfred Academy in New Haven. Lori soon realized her greatest joy was found in being a mother and finding her place in life. As life would have it, finding her place came with many lessons, struggles and triumphs.
As coal needs pressure to create a diamond, so was Lori's life's journey. A journey shaped and formed by the pressures and changes of her life. However, cast down, but not forsaken, Lori used her journey to help others and thus developed a heart as rare as any diamond. Her philosophy was to never judge anyone but to accept people for who they were and to accept life on life's terms.
Known for her generous nature and kindness, Lori loved her children, her grandchildren, (whom she spoiled dearly) and her family. Her favorite pastime was cooking and eating, often-times preparing big meals and enjoying all who loved her food.
Lori leaves to cherish her memory, her children Kendall Fisher of West Haven, Brandon Fisher of Hamden; Brittani Santos; Troy Fisher and Brandi Fisher all of Norwich. Her life partner Erwin Kerr of Norwich; Grandchildren; Siblings Jeannine Fisher of Gastonia, NC. and James Fisher Jr, of Charlotte, NC. and her only niece and nephew Marcus Harris of New Haven; and Alexus Stroman, of Gastonia, NC; Her great nephew Jadice Cloud of Meriden and her God daughter LaQuan Streater of New Haven as well as a host of loving cousins, and friends.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents James and Hazel (Jean) Fisher; and her maternal grandmother Sara D. Morrison (MaBenie).
A celebration of Lori's life will be held on on Friday February 19, 2021 at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden at 11am. Viewing in the funeral home from 10am-11am. Burial will be held at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com.
