Obituary

Joseph Finoia Jr., 94, of Hamden, passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2022. He was born on September 21, 1927 in Hamden, CT to the late Joseph Anthony Finoia Sr., and Maria DelGrego Finoia. He was the loving husband of the late Eleanor G. Finoia for 67 years. He is survived by his daughter Janice Mandel (Michael LaVoie), of Shelton, and sons Joseph Finoia III (Brenda) of Cheshire, and Michael M. Finoia (Cherie), of Wallingford. He is survived by grandchildren Jennifer and Sean Mandel, Joseph IV, Nicholas (Torie), Daniel, and Brittney Finoia, and Christina (Luke) Finoia Curadi. Great grandchildren Michelle and Rose Mandel, Kayla, Maverick, Mani, and Charlotte Finoia, Lucille Finoia Curadi and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Fanny DeCata, Marie Conte (Alex), and Helen Massey (Tom), brothers Angelo Finoia (Theresa), Peter Finoia (Julia), Dominick Finoia (Mary), Alfred Finoia (Arlene), and son in law Raymond Mandel. He was barber in Finoia Barber Shop, he worked at MB Electronics, TMC and owned his own business HISS, Hospital Instruments Supply and Service. In 1985 with his wife Eleanor they started Technical Allied Products, Inc., in Wallingford, CT. He later retired in 2007. He was a life member of the ELKS and NRA. Joseph was a US Navy Veteran and served from 1945-1948. He had an undying love for his family and especially loved when his family was gathered around him.

Visitation will be held on Friday April 29, 2022 at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, from 4-7pm. Joseph's Funeral Procession will leave on Saturday Morning April 30, 2022 at 9:30am from Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be Celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden at 10am. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park with full Military Honors.
