John A Rubino Sr. 69, of Hamden, died peacefully on July 28, 2021 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. John was born in New Haven on December 6, 1951, son of the late Joseph and Consiglia (Valente) Rubino. John was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years Robin (Hackley) Rubino, and daughter, Erica Rubino. John leaves behind his four children, John (Krista) Rubino, Jr. of Indian Trail, NC, Mark Rubino of CT, Andrea (Eric) Berryman of Holiday, FL and Nicholas Rubino of Hamden, CT. He also leaves behind beloved grandchildren Ryan Rubino, Penelope Berryman, and Emma and Leo Rubino. He is survived by his brothers Joseph (Theresa) Rubino of Florida and James Rubino of Prospect, his sisters Ann (Robert) Vaillancourt of Branford and Joan Rubino of East Haven, as well as many nieces and nephews.

John was a jack of all trades and enjoyed helping friends and family around their homes. In his free time, John enjoyed working outside, making home repairs, watching Law and Order, and listening to music. His family meant everything to him, and he was blessed to have them all in his life.  John started his career in construction. Later he worked for Bill's Sunoco for many years, then ended his career in maintenance and home repairs.  John will be remembered by all who met him for his kindness, perseverance, and for seeing the goodness in everyone.

The Rubino family wishes to thank John's niece Renee and nephew Bobby, and his many doctors and nurses at Smilow/Yale New Haven Hospital for the loving care and attention bestowed upon John.

A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date when all family and friends can be present to join in a celebration of John's life.
