Giro "Butch" Celentano passed away on August 30, 2023 at the age of 69. Giro was born on July 2, 1954, in New Haven, CT. Giro served as a medic in the United States Army. Giro was also an avid chess player, a skill he passed along to his son. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Gregory and Ann (Carrubba) Celentano Palumbo, and his sister, Pam Hand. He is survived by his son Matthew (Jenny) Celentano and granddaughter, Chloe, as well as his sister, Gerri Oddo. Also survived by nephews Peter Oddo, Michael (Kelsey) Oddo, Richard Andrus, Greg (Tammy) Celentano and Robert Andrus and nieces Alyssa Andrus and Michelle Elias; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Saint Aedan Church in New Haven, where a mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 10am. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com.
