Elworth Mobley, age 83, of Hamden Connecticut. Departed this life on November 23, 2023. Elworth was born July 8,1940 in Winterville, NC. He was one of 6 children born to the late Thelbert and Mattie Mobley. Elworth spent most of life in Connecticut. Elworth joined the Airforce and was part of the military for some years before leaving and joining the workforce. Elworth was called (Elly) to most of his closest friends, he was employed at U.S. Repeating Arms as a gun maker for some years before leaving and going to Stop and Shop Warehouse for 37 years where he retired. Elly was also a member of the Masonic Lodge he was a caring, free spirited person that would do anything for anyone with no hesitations. In his free time Elly loved to fish and go hunting. He leaves behind a sister Mae Jolley a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Elly was predeceased by his lifelong partner Esther Louise Moore, brothers; Elester Mobley, Benjamin Mobley, James Mobley and sister Ruth G Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home. 1300 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden from 10am-12pm.
