Elizabeth Ann
(Dinardo) Andrews
Aug 9, 1945 — Oct 27, 2022
Hamden
Elizabeth Ann Dinardo Andrews was born August 9,1945 to Anita Frances Garrity DiNardo and Genarro Dinardo In New Haven County. She was baptized under the catholic faith. Elizabeth also had an older brother named James. Elizabeth went to Helen St., Hamden Middle School " Michael J Whalen " and graduated from Hamden High. (which her twins did as well. Her son in laws , one granddaughter graduated from Hamden high and one grandson is now a Jr at Hamden high). She worked as a meat packer and also as a secretary for years until she began her career at Bradlees for 30yrs (in later years worked for kohls). By chance at her Kenneth St. in West Haven she saw this guy that turned her head but seemed to pay no attention to her. Liz is not one to give up. She pursued this man until one day she decided to go to his door and ask to use his phone ,he of course said yes and she said "every time I wave why didn't you wave back?" He smiled and said "because I'm blind". Of course she was surprised but she had no cares or worries that he was blind. Elizabeth later married him, Lewis M Andrews the man she pursued so hard. They went on to enjoy a 48yr union and had twins Heather and Heidi. She was so excited because she felt she would never have children. The surprise was on her, as she delivered one baby she thought she was done the doctor told her "hold on there's another one coming". She was in shock. She was now blessed with identical twin girls. They now had to get two of everything since they were only prepared for one. Elizabeth "Liz" loved her family and especially her 10 grandkids. She became a grandma in her late 40s. She always wanted more children, so her grandkids were her life. Liz also has two son in laws that she thought the world of, she treated them just like her own sons for over 31yrs. Liz was always full of laughter and joy. You would always know when Liz was in the room her voice would carry throughout the entire room. She loved to laugh. She always made sure her hair was done and lipstick on. Being in retail she loved to shop. She always made sure we had food on the table and clothes on our backs. She also loved doing yard work, riding on the tractor and using the weed wacker, which always got her mad because she swore it never worked correctly. We have an infinity of memories of our mom. A lot of great memories and great times. Awesome trips and family moments. We know she is always with us and we know she is guiding us in writing this because that's her, she always puts her 2 cents in even if you didn't ask for it. That's one of the many things we loved about her. We can go on and on about our mother, we could write a novel but there will never be enough time to express all the great times and memories because there are way too many awesome things we could say about, a kind hearted, compassionate, caring, loving woman. We were all so blessed as a family to have our birthday as an entire family together in 17yrs. On September 23,2022 you were there to celebrate your twin girls "25th" birthday celebration. You said that day " you couldn't ask for better girls than us". We were all able to go to the Big E as a family. Stay at the timeshare and celebrate our big day with great laughs, videos and pictures. We all had a blast eating ,dancing, sharing stories. This is a moment in time the lord blessed us with one last vacation/getaway together with you and we are so thankful we had that memorable time together. You did so awesome you hung in there with us at the Big E and you know I told you that. It was a long day, crowded and at night it got cold. Elizabeth passed away on Oct 27th with her family by her side. Elizabeth, Liz, Betty, MA, Grandma, sweet cheeks our best friend will be truly missed but never ever forgotten. She was and still is our structure our strength. We love you so very much. Words can't express how much you were loved, will be loved , and how much you will be missed. Our hearts broke that day. It's an awful feeling, but we know that you are in a better place with other family members that have passed we know the lord is taking care of you and you are having a great time ,you are free. We know you will always be with us ,watching over us and guiding us. We know you will still be part of all that we do. We all love you so very much and we know you know that since we told you that all the time in person and through text. Big hugs and kisses forever xoxoxo "22"
