Dorothy "Dottie" A. (Balogh) Peccerillo, age 88, of Hamden, passed away on May 18, 2024, at Whitney Manor. She was born in New Haven, CT, on June 12, 1935 to the late Stephen and Antoinette (DeLorenzo) Balogh. She was the wife of the late Ralph Peccerillo for over 20 years, who was taken from her way too young. She also was predeceased by her second husband Alex Voiiso for only 4 months. Loving mother of Catherine (Matthew) Lucian of Cheshire and John Peccerillo of Hamden. Cherished grandmother of Ashley Peccerillo, Tara (Jim) Jackson, Krista (Ryan) McFarland, Matthew (Chelsea) Lucian, John Peccerillo, and David (Alana) Lucian. Survived by 9 great grandchildren; Paulie, Mariah, Christian, Avery, Tyler, Amelia, Teagan, Chloe, and Everly. Also survived by her two step sisters Beverly DeGraaf of New Haven and Diane Signore of SC. Dorothy filled the role of both Mother and Father to Cathy and John. She loved to travel with her kids. She continued the family trips to Lake George, NY, VT, NH, and Pennsylvania. She introduced them to Disney World in Florida that became the family's favorite place. Dorothy loved her yearly Christmas trips to New York City. She loved travelling out of the country with many of her good friends and her cousin Liz. Dorothy was an avid reader, gardener, knitter, sewer, and a phenomenal cook. She carried on the holidays and the gatherings with the family for many years. Dorothy was employed at St. Raphael Hospital for 35 years. Dorothy donated countless volunteer hours in the St. Raphael Gift Shop, The Shubert Theater and Hospice of Branford.  Dorothy was predeceased by one brother Dominic Balogh, step-sister Marilyn Lohrs, daughter-in-law Lori Peccerillo, and step-mother Jannie Balogh.

The family would like to thank the staff at Atria Larson Place of Hamden, Whitney Manor in Hamden, and her hospice team.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday Morning, May 22, 2024 in Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue, from 9:30am-10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, of Hamden at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, of West Haven. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to hospice in Branford in Dorothy's name.
