Dorothea A Giatrelis Loukides 96 of Hamden, died peacefully with her family by her side at Saint Raphael's Hospital Saturday, February 15, 2020. She was born in New Haven Ct, on July 25, 1923 to the Late Terry and Despina (Jenetopolus) Loukides. She was the beloved parent of 4 children Deana of Hamden, Peter of Wallingford, Nicholas (Maureen) Giatrelis of Wallingford, and Terry Giatrelis of Hamden. She was the much adored yiayia to her grandchildren Peter (Melissa) Giatrelis, Lindsay (Jim) Bonaldo, Brendan (Liz) Giatrelis, Alexandra (David) Munro, Terry, Rachel and Nico Giatrelis. Yiayia is also survived by 7 Great Grandchildren, Raylan, Jackson, Peter, Stella, Thea, Bryson, and Brady. Dot retired from the Yale Health Plan as a medical records supervisor. Dot was a parishioner at St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church, where she also enjoyed volunteering for Odyssey the Greek Festival and attending senior luncheons. In her spare time Dot enjoyed gardening, cooking and Hallmark Channel. What she enjoyed most was babysitting for her grandchildren. Dot was predeceased by her brother Louis and Michael Loukides. She also leaves behind her sister in law Penelope Basel of Stamford.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 21, 2020 at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Rd., Orange from 10-11am. Funeral Services will begin at 11am at the Church.
