Daniel Joseph Remillard

Daniel “Dan” Joseph Remillard, born June 5, 1952, in Hamden, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

A lifelong Connecticut resident, Dan was a proud graduate of Hamden High School, Class of 1970. He spent many years working as a painter at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven.

Dan was an avid sports fan who enjoyed both playing and watching sports. Some of his fondest memories were made camping and spending time with his family. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or enjoying time outdoors, he appreciated life's simple pleasures and the memories made along the way.

Dan leaves behind his former wife and devoted current caretaker, Barbara Remillard of Branford; his three children, Danielle Cooper and her husband Mike of Branford, Christopher of Plainville, and Cody of Arizona; and his four beloved grandchildren, Cameron, Jack, Derek, and Theo, who brought him the greatest joy.

He is also survived by his siblings Thomas of South Carolina, Mary of Milford, and Leo of Hamden. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Jeanne, and his siblings, Dorothea and Richard.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to those who provided care and support to Dan throughout his journey.

Calling hour will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 9am to 10am at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06514. A funeral service will immediately follow at 10am. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
