Cheryl Mariam Scanlon Cruz, beloved wife of Porfirio Cruz of Wallingford, CT., joined the presence of God March 3, 2023. Cheryl is survived by two daughters Charityn Gandia Ortiz her husband Rosendo Ortiz and Jennifer Lee Cruz-Chilel and her husband, Eusebio Chilel Ramirez. She also leaves grandchildren Andrew, Kimberley, Yesenia, Ernesto, Joshua, Antonio, Reginald, Gabriel, Jalieyaha, Jennalysse, Anthony, JahairaAmina, and Emmanuel, and 1 great grandson Ayden. Cheryl grew up in Madison, CT., the daughter of Thomas and Shirley Scanlon. She had 6 siblings, and a close friend, almost a daughter to her Dawn and her husband Hector Rodriguez. Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She took great pride in her family, and her many loving friends. Cheryl had capacity to make everyone feel loved. She was accepting of all the people whose lives she touched. Her legacy is joy, love, acceptance and true goodness. She will be missed but will live on in everyone's heart who loves her.

There will be a wake held on Friday March 17, 2023 in Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT., from 4-8pm. With Funeral Service held at 7:30pm. Condolences maybe expressed at hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com.
