Bennie "Glease" Carr, was born April 5, 1955, in Greenville, SC, CT to the late Ben Carr Jr., and Cassie Carr. He received his wings on February 15, 2021, at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital.
He graduated from Eli Whitney Technical High School, in Hamden, CT, majoring in Engineering. He then went on to the University of New Haven and graduated with an Associates Degrees majoring in Engineering. Glease had a passion for basketball, and was an awesome player. He was very caring, loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to all that knew him. Bennie has worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a Draft Engineer until he became disabled. He joined Pitts Chapel U.F.W.B. Church under the leadership of Bishop Lonnie Gorham, and now he is under the leadership of Bishop Elijah Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Tanya L. Tolson an Kyndra Mallory, and one son, Terrance (Malynda) Mallory, all of New Haven, CT, 3 granddaughters, Bre'Anna Muriel of Richmond, VA, Destini Jones & Myana Mallory, New Haven, CT 5 grandsons, Harvey Bowman of Louisville, KY, Terrance, Terron, Teriq Mallory, and Teshan L. Stewart, Jr., all of New Haven He also leaves 1 great-granddaughter, and 3 great-grandsons. Also, to cherish his memories are his 2 brothers, Elder Denis (Sheila) Carr, and Kevin (Mary0Louise) Carr, aunts, Danise McNeil and Geneva Walters-Carr, all of Hamden.
Bennie was predeceased by parents, Ben Carr, Jr. and Cassie Mae Carr, 2 sisters, Felicia & Carolyn Carr, and one brother, Roscoe Carr, Maternal Grandparents, Cecile and Nanniw Boyce, and Paternal Grandparents, Ben Carr, Sr. and Mary Carr.
A celebration of Bennie's life will be held at Hamden Memorial 1300 Dixwell Avenue Hamden on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at 11am. Viewing in Hamden Memorial from 9am-11am. interment will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com.
