Anthony, "Tony" Carbone passed away on April 16, 2024, at St. Raphael's Hospital after a long illness. Born in New Haven, CT to the late Aniello Carbone and the late Theresa Santacroce on May 26, 1939, he was father to Anthony (Rose) Carbone of Cheshire CT, Robert (Edie) Carbone of Longs SC, and Michael Carbone of East Haven CT. Tony was a bread baker since his teen years beginning with his father on Grand Avenue in Fair Haven before opening Tony's Bakery in Hamden with his loving stepfather Tony Fraulo and mother Theresa, in 1974. The bakery ran until 2014 when illness forced him to retire. Tony will be remembered as a giving soul, always thoughtful and kind, and an avid hunter, making many trips to upstate New York through the years. A tattoo artist in his early years and an ardent painter in his later years, restoring many statues for friends and family. His best artistry was in his bread, which was second to none and has been missed by all. He leaves behind six grandchildren; Rob, Taylor, Anthony, Lauren, Stephen and Marcella, and one great-grandchild, Carina Carbone. He also leaves behind his step sister Angelina Reese and brother Curt Carbone. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Carbone and step sister Dolores O'Connell, Godfather Ralph Aiello, and his lifelong friend, Natale "King" Aiello.
