Alice "Nonnie" (Acker) Giamattei, age 97, of Hamden, entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at CT Hospice of Branford. She was born on June 2, 1923 in New Haven, the daughter of the late Evelyn DelVasto. The beloved wife of the late Joseph Giamattei Sr. The loving mother of Paul Giamattei of New Haven, Anthony Giamattei of SC., Adeline (Richard) Derrico of Hamden, John (Sara) Giamattei of Hamden, Patricia Giamattei of Hamden, and Joseph Giamattei Jr. of Hamden. Survived by one brother John "Sonny" DelVasto.  Also survived by grandchildren April Giamattei, Eric Floyd, Ashley Giamattei, Gabriella D'Errico, Richard D'Errico Jr, Joseph Giamattei, Lyndsey Woods-Giamattei, Anthony Giamattei Jr., Amber Giamattei-Lenihan, and Charlie Giamattei.  Great grandchildren Nahgee Baldwin, Jada Baldwin, Colin Giamattei, Noah Woods, Aaliyah Woods, Olivia Lenihan, Gavin Lenihan, William Giamattei, James Giamattei and one great great grandchild Kaylee Giamattei. Alice worked on the assembly line at the Hummel Hotdog Company.
