Alfreda Youmans, 50, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home. She was born April 22, 1970, to the late Alfred Youmans and Katherine Ulmer in New Haven, Connecticut.

Alfreda was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was affectionately known as Fred. She was a longtime New Haven resident where she was educated in the local school system and attended Hillhouse High School. After completing high school, Alfreda worked in the food retail industry. As a young woman, she was a member of the House of Jacob Church where she sung in the choir.

Prior to her illness, Alfreda loved outdoors, she loved long walks in the Elm City and viewed the city from her porch and her bedroom window. She enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Theresa Wright; nephews Marquise and Ma'Trell Wright; and her aunt Mary Barton. She leaves to cherish her memories her three children, Devon, Quenisha and Deari Youmans of New Haven; grandsons Maurice Livingston, Jvion Youmans; granddaughters Morgan Livingston and Davonna Youmans of New Haven, CT.; her brothers Gene Ulmer of Sierra Vista, Az; Clarence (Teresa) Ulmer of Williamsport, Pa and Jeremiah Albright of New Haven; stepbrother Alonztrae Yancey; stepsisters Monique Yancey; Sabrina (Torriano) Spell of New Haven; a special cousin Leshe Barton and a host of extended family and friends, who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services will be help Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Hamden Memorial Funerial Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06514. The viewing is at 10:00am and the funeral is at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at Hamdenmemorialfuneralhome.com.
